New Song – Rough

This is a mobile phone recording of us playing one of Rohan’s new riffs for the first time.

We have since been playing this song at every show on the last tour and suffice to say, it is fun to play. Mat’s lyrics for it are pretty awesome too.

Our shows over the last few days have been pretty incredible. It’s been a real adventure.

I almost missed our set in Canberra due to a delayed flight, then had to make off back to Sydney for work at 5am the following morning. Everything was to be smooth sailing from there, finish work then get to Black Wire to meet the rest of the band and play our set. Easy, it was not to be. Mathew broke down on the highway. Once all other options were eliminated I rushed down to Black Wire to knick Marathon’s car and get down to Mittagong to get him and come back in time for us the play before the show was over. We made it with time to spare and without any fines. Playing the show ended up being a pretty euphoric experience and it really makes all the effort worthwhile. We all piled out, except Rohan – he disappeared in a cloud of green smoke, and hung out with Jon and the Hoodlum Shouts guys until the wee hours of the morning, too much fun. A cowboy at the pub who said I was a snake in the grass, a college boy and that I was trying to hoodwink him with my university hocus pocus challenged me to an arm wrestle.

On a serious note, our guys in Marathon totaled their car on the way down to Melbourne that night and have since come into a bit of financial difficulty, if you could all dig deep and show your support by buying their stuff and getting out their shows that would be fantastic.

Hanging out with the Hoodlum Shouts and Marathon guys has been awesome, as always, and I can’t wait to do it again.
